It is a widely known olive tree variety in Crete, described by high resistance in drought and extreme heat conditions. Its fruit has small size and conical shape and the maturation of the tree starts in October and ends in December. It can reach up to 27 % of oil content; however the resulted olive oil is famous for its unique flavour and rich taste. The tree can be found in 5 to 7 meters height and it requires the minimum treatment.
