This variety is rooted in Santorini, but because of its easy adaptation to various soil and climatic environments, has spread throughout Greece. It is lively, fertile and productive as a plant. They are also resistant to most diseases and drought. It ripens mid to late August. The wine has high acidity, but easily oxidized and so it needs attention in vinification.*
